My Friends Find My Teeth Grinding At Night Annoying

It was the second day of this camp that I was having. My tent-mate looked pissed for some reason. And I soon found out why. ‘Dude, do you know you make really loud noises when you sleep?’ he asked me while we were at breakfast. ‘No, I don’t, not at all. I snore?’ I asked sheepishly. ‘No man, not snoring, but these noises that sound like a cross between an old creaking door and the sound you get when you scratch a chalkboard with your nails. It’s driving me nuts!’
‘Ah……I think my dentist told me about that condition once. Sorry,’ I said, sheepishly again. Deep in my heart though, I was mortified and confused. This condition of mine was getting from bad to worse, because not only was it affected myself, it was potentially irritating to others as well. It was like snoring, but worse! I had to find a way to stop my teeth from grinding at night.

Hi, my name's Ben, and I'm a long-time sufferer of bruxism - a condition in which I grind on my teeth all night long, causing me to wake up with a sore jaw and have occasional headaches. I started this site to journal my experience with bruxism and my progress to finding a cure.
